Dr. Byrd grew up in Savannah, Georgia alongside many canine brothers and sisters. He later earned his DVM from the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts and recently joined FRAH in 2014. He has enjoyed getting to know the Front Range staff, the local community, and the Colorado outdoors. His favorite case challenges involve ophthalmology, neurology, and practicing surgery, and he also has a special interest in exotics.

Dr. Byrd loves to collaborate with clients and believes that teamwork leads to the best outcomes for pets, especially when it comes to preventative care and managing chronic health conditions. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Byrd enjoys birdwatching and cooking at home with his wife and three, well-loved pet birds (a green-cheeked conure and two parakeets).
