Preparing for a Surgery or Dental Procedure

If the doctor recommends a surgery or dental procedure for your pet, you will be scheduled for an admission appointment on the morning of the surgery. Please allow about 10 minutes for this appointment. The technician will get recent information on your pet, make sure the list of treatments that you desire is complete, and get your contact phone numbers, so we can keep you informed on how your pet is doing.
The night before the surgery or dental, you will need to take up the food dish at 8 pm. Please leave the water bowl available. Make sure your pet does not have access to any treats or other pet’s food bowls. Also, be sure all members of your family know to not feed him. Your pet needs an empty stomach for the anesthetic.
Before your admission appointment, be sure to read about our Preanesthetic Testing recommendations. You will be asked if you accept or decline our recommendations.
If you are unable to keep the surgery appointment for your pet, we ask that you give us at least 24 hour’s notice, so that we may give that time to another pet.
