The Anesthesia

Pet owners are often worried about having their pet anesthetized for a surgery or dentistry. At Front Range Animal Hospital, there are many things that we do to make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pet.
- We are experienced with anesthesia. We anesthetize hundreds of patients per year and our track record is excellent.
- We recommend preanesthetic blood work and EKG. This helps us to make sure your pet is healthy enough for an anesthetic.
- We use state-of-the-art anesthesia. We stock a variety of anesthetic drugs, including propofol and isoflurane, and we carefully pick the best drug combination for each patient, depending on their age, breed, and health status.
- We constantly monitor our patients, during the anesthetic period and during recovery. We use electronic monitoring such as pulse monitors, respiratory monitors, and pulse oximeters, and more importantly, each patient has a technician dedicated to monitoring vital signs and anesthetic level
