The Anesthesia

Pet owners are often worried about having their pet anesthetized for a surgery or dentistry. At Front Range Animal Hospital, there are many things that we do to make anesthesia as safe as possible for your pet. 

1. We are experienced with anesthesia.  We anesthetize hundreds of patients per year and our track record is excellent.
2. We recommend preanesthetic blood work and EKG.  This helps us to make sure your pet is healthy enough for an anesthetic.
3. We use state-of-the-art anesthesia.  We stock a variety of anesthetic drugs, including propofol and isoflurane, and we carefully pick the best drug combination for each patient, depending on their age, breed, and health status.
4. We constantly monitor our patients, during the anesthetic period and during recovery.  We use electronic monitoring such as pulse monitors, respiratory monitors, and pulse oximeters, and more importantly, each patient has a technician dedicated to monitoring vital signs and anesthetic level
